Sealants can be divided into three major categories: elastic sealants, liquid gaskets and sealers.
According to the chemical composition classification, it can be divided into rubber type, resin type, oil-based type and natural polymer sealant. This classification method can more speculate about the properties of polymer materials, which is warm, tight and adaptable to various media.
Rubber type: This type of sealant is based on rubber. Common rubbers are polysulfide rubber, silicone rubber, polyurethane rubber, neoprene and butyl rubber.
Resin type: This type of sealant is based on resin. Commonly used resins are epoxy resins, unsaturated polyester resins, phenolic resins, polyacrylic resins, and polyvinyl chloride resins.
Oil-based: This type of sealant is based on oil. Commonly used oils are various vegetable oils such as linseed oil, castor oil and tung oil, and animal oils such as fish oil.
