Raw materials rise, precipitated silica will rise in August or the global price

Hits: 777 img

Recently, the cost of raw materials in the domestic silica market has continued to rise. According to market feedback, major precipitated silica brand companies may collectively increase their prices in August by 500 yuan/ton for domestic and US$120/ton for exports.

Since July, the price of silica raw materials has been rising. The domestic soda ash market has been affected by factors such as tight power supply, rain natural disasters, tight raw material supply and other factors. Soda ash enterprises are under-operating, coupled with the suspension of production and maintenance of individual enterprises, and the overall supply of the industry has decreased significantly. In the case of imbalance between supply and demand, companies accept orders in limited quantities, and the price of soda ash continues to rise, and the monthly price rises by 100-300 yuan/ton.

In July, the supply of sulfuric acid in the market was not optimistic. Since the first ten days of the year, there has been a shortage of supply in some areas. The stable downstream demand and outstanding performance of international demand have pushed the price of sulfuric acid up all the way. Currently, domestic sulphuric acid companies have low inventories, and it is expected that sulphuric acid prices may continue to rise in August when the overall demand is positive.

In the long run, carbon neutrality will drive the increase in demand for photovoltaics in the future. Some institutions predict that the demand for soda ash in the photovoltaic industry will increase significantly in the next ten years. In the short term, there is no plan for new projects in the domestic soda ash market, and there is no solution for increasing demand in the photovoltaic industry. The soda ash market may face a period of capacity gaps, and it is expected that the supply of soda ash will continue to be tight in the next few years.

In summary, the current supply of silica in the white carbon black market is insufficient, and the demand is strong. In addition, the industry development of "sodium batteries" and new energy vehicles will bring new demand.
