Polyether-modified silicone oil is modified by grafting polyether segments on the main chain of hydrophobic siloxane. The siloxane part of the polyether-modified silicone oil provides: surface tension reduction, UV resistance, gloss and viscosity adjustment, and silicone hydrophobicity but not lipophilicity. The polyether part provides: polar groups, different degrees of water solubility and lipophilicity. Polyether is generally synthesized from ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, and the polyether molecule is composed of ethoxy chain units (EO) and propoxy units (PO). EO is negatively charged and has charge absorption, and it will increase The polarity of the molecule; the higher the number of EO, the more hydrophilic the molecule. There is a methyl group in PO. The methyl group is an electron donating group, which can reduce the polarity of the molecule. The more PO, the more hydrophobic the molecule. The hydrophilic polyether segment makes the product have good surface activity. By changing the type, quantity and position of the introduced polyether, the hydrophilic and lipophilic properties can be effectively adjusted, and different emulsification, foam stabilization, defoaming and other properties can be obtained.
